St Joseph’s Convent Port-of-Spain was presented with the Lawrence Trim Touring Team trophy and the Don La Foucade Inspirational Speaker trophy, having won League and the Round Robin League opener Eight-over tournament, when the Francis Rivas School girls Windball Cricket League held their award ceremony on Tuesday at Queen’s Park Savannah.
Diego Martin North Secondary finished second. The tight fixture occured early last month in which St Joseph won the decisive third game in the best-of-three series which was tied 1-1. It was Diego Martin which began the battle thanks to Shania Baliram and Kedisha Boans, both of whom scored ten and 13 runs respectively, in a total of 62 for two in their eight overs. However, in reply, St Joseph showed their dominace as Marie-Elise Maingot and Sherlanna Ferret recorded 13 and 12 runs respectively to guide them to 65 runs for the lost of two wickets enroute to victory.
