T&T point guard Rhea Codio, right, makes her way past a Guyana player during the two teams’ second group stage clash at the CBC Championship for Women, on Wednesday. T&T eased to a 96–33 win with Codio leading all players on the scoring chart with 15 points.

T&T’s senior national women’s team continued their quest for silverware at the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Championship for Women, in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, last evening.

T&T and Jamaica, both of which won their first two Group B matches, were carded to battle in the deciding match after press time last evening.

A win for T&T would see the team top the group and advance to the semifinal of the tournament where it would meet Group A’s runner-up.

A loss, however, would still see T&T out of the group, but in second place. Group B comprises Barbados, US Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic and Bahamas.

At the semifinal stage the winners will not only advance to the final, but also secure a berth into the Central basketball tournament for women, which takes place later this month.

The losers will still have a chance to advance to the regional tournament if they win the play-off. The tournament will conclude tomorrow.
