The volume of shares traded on the First Tier Market last week was up 66.77 per cent on the previous week’s volume with a total of 1,262,980 shares changing ownership compared to 757,317 shares traded last week. The value of shares traded, however, fell 3.80 per cent to $13,785,364.41 from the prior week’s value of $14,329,977.28. The volume leader was Trinidad Cement Ltd (TCL) accounting for 40.34 per cent of the total volume traded or 509,453 shares changing hands.
All three indices closed the week higher. The Composite Index advanced 0.32 per cent or 3.66 points to 1,162.32, the All T&T Index increased 0.13 per cent or 2.63 points to 1,957.98 and the Cross Listed Index rose 1.35 per cent or 0.64 points to close at 48.21. The advance to decline ratio ended the week 8 to 6. National Flour Mills Ltd (NFM) posted the largest gain, up 20.61 per cent or $0.47 to $2.75 and the major decline was Jamaica Money Market Brokers Group Ltd (JMMBGL), slipping 6.00 per cent or $0.03 to $0.47.
There was no activity on the Second Tier Market this week. On the TTD Mutual Fund Market 154,265 Clico Investment Fund (CIF) units traded with a value of $3,499,820.25. CIF’s price rose 0.18 per cent or $0.04 to $22.72.
