Trinidad and Tobago’s FIBA referee Nathanael Charles has been appointed to officiate at next months women’s competition at the 2014 Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Championships in Tortola (British Virgin Islands) from July 8—12. Fiba Americas Referee Supervisor Geraldo Fontana made the announcement on the weekend.
Charles, who took charge of five matches in the recently concluded Super 10 Basketball League finals between eventual winners Petro Jazz and Valencia Heat, will line-up with 13 other referees from the FIBA Americas region.
Meanwhile, the men’s championships will run from July 1 to 5 at the same venue.

T&T seeking Centrobaset spot
Trinidad and Tobago will be aiming to secure one of the three places up for grabs at this year’s Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Championships which will see them play at the July 22-26 Centrobasket championships schedule for Monterrey, Mexico.
The women’s event will run from 22 to 26, in Monterrey, México and will feature the national teams of Cuba, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, the first three teams of the CBC Championship for women and Mexico, while the men’s will be stage from August 1 to 7 in Nayarit, Mexico.
Among the participants are Costa Rica, El Salvador, Jamaica, Panama, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, the first three teams of the CBC Championship and Mexico.
The Centrobasket Championships will qualify four teams to the 2015 FIBA Americas Championships.
