Did Anil’s memory fail him?

Like the rest of T&T I awaited Anil’s clarification of the video in which a person therein resembles him. After carefully reading his letter to his Prime Minister, which his Prime Minister, it appears, accepted hook, line, and sinker, I did not find a simple straightforward denial: “that is not me”, which should have satisfied COP his party from which he is now suspended. But Anil stated in his second paragraph: “I have no recollection of the events portrayed in the video”, thus prompting the question, did Anil’s memory fail him?
