Provide green, quiet space for future generation

The common cry around most is that there is no hope. What a sad reflection on all loyal citizens. We must keep in mind that where there is life there is hope. How about if we follow the lead of so many of the developing nations (no one has really arrived at developed nation status as yet) and go green?

At present all development is centred around bars, nightclubs and casinos and our focus should be on parks, pavements other forms of allowing for the gradual education of our young generation. What’s the use of attempting to stimulate proper parenting and child care when there is no place to take them to recreate apart from the noise and confusion that passes for entertainment now a days.

Let me suggest one project that could perhaps be of interest to any of the political parties that intend attracting voters next year—the Diamond Vale Industrial Estate.

What better place to have a park where the employees of the various businesses could relax and have their lunch in peace and quiet, or where the residents could take their children for a stroll in the afternoons? At present this area is a disgrace and reflects very badly on the various industries that are operating there. Employers have to wake up to their responsibilities and assist in developing a whole new concept on what community living is all about.

If we are truly interested in our future generations we must provide them with green, quiet areas, for example the Botanical Gardens or how the Savannah was envisioned by our forefathers. Make this park and the surrounding areas attractive not only as a workplace but to encourage parents and guardians to learn to relax and take a serious look at what the future holds for all of us, particularly the children.
