North American-based duo Alexandria Donahue and Tyla Martin and Joshua Ramkissoon will make their return to the national swimming team when they compete at the Caribbean Islands Swimming Championships (CISC) in Barbados from June 28 to July 7.
This after the trio were named in a 41-member swimming team which was ratified by the Amateur Swimming Association of T&T (ASATT) executive on Monday night, following the conclusion of the National Open Long Course (NOLC) Swimming Championships at the Marlins Swimming Pool, Morne Coco Road, Westmoorings on Sunday night.
The four-day meet which featured some impressive swims, was a FINA sanctioned event, which meant times made at the meet were eligible for consideration for FINA World Championships, Youth Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Central American and Caribbean Games, and CISC team selection.
For the CISC’s Open Water competition, an 11-member team will represent T&T with former ASATT president Hazel Haynes of Tidal Wave Aquatics, the head coach.
